The IBM System StorageT TS1030 Tape Drive Model F3B (machine type 3588) is designed for installation in an IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library (machine type 3584) to offer high capacity, performance, and technology designed for the midrange open systems environment. This model incorporates the new Linear Tape-Open (LTO) IBM Ultrium 3 Tape Drive, which more than doubles maximum tape drive throughput over the IBM LTO generation 2 Tape Drive (Ultrium 2).
